 May 2023
Dear Parent/Guardian,
You are receiving this letter because your child currently has a failing average below a 60 in one or
more courses. Please check Infinite Campus for final grades. Students who do not pass required
courses for graduation must retake the course. If your child does fail a course, we would strongly
encourage you to sign them up for summer school.
The Jasper County Charter System will provide an opportunity this summer to all high school
students who need to retake courses they failed during this past school year. This opportunity is free
to all Jasper County High School students. Students will have from June 5, 2023 – July 28, 2023 to
complete their course(s).
Students will utilize the Georgia Credit Recovery platform, available through Georgia Virtual
Learning. The GA DOE Credit Recovery Program provides students, who did not initially succeed
in obtaining course credit, with the opportunity to retake a course to earn credit towards graduation.
Credit Recovery courses are offered online and have flexible schedules. If you would like to
participate, you must sign up using the following link:
https://gavs.geniussis.com/PublicWelcome.aspx.
Students will be responsible for creating a login and registering for the courses. Directions for
registering with Georgia Credit Recovery are available on the website. Students will need their
GTID, which could be found in the student or parent portal of Infinite Campus.
All coursework must be completed by July 25, 2022. Students who do not successfully recover
credit will be enrolled in the course for the Fall semester. If you have any questions, please contact
Kraig Howell at khowell@jasper.k12.ga.us or (706) 468-6350 ext. 116.
